Why Did the Impact Fund Create NoticeAssist?
Former Impact Fund Executive Director Jocelyn Larkin, creator of the Notice Project.
In 2015, the Impact Fund ran a focus group to understand why people don’t share our passion for class actions – and we learned that people strongly dislike class notices.
So, Jocelyn Larkin launched the Notice Project to champion class action notices that are easier for class members to read and understand.
In 2019, Alex Lara was hired to the Impact Fund as a product manager. Alex set out to create class action notice templates that would improve the visuals of notices, and a software tool that would improve the clarity of notice language.
When generative AI and ChatGPT rapidly entered the public consciousness, Alex realized that AI has incredible potential to help lawyers clarify and simplify notice language.
This was the inception of NoticeAssist.
NoticeAssist is a tool designed to empower lawyers to make class action notices more effective.
NoticeAssist, our templates, and the Notice Project exist to make it easier for all the laypeople people involved in class actions to understand their rights. We hope that by improving class action notices, we can improve access to justice in class action lawsuits.
